Signs your phone battery needs replacing
Lithium-ion batteries wear out with every charge cycle. After two or three years of daily use, most phones show at least one of these signs:
- The phone barely lasts till afternoon even with light use
- It shuts down suddenly at 15, 20 or even 40 percent
- The percentage jumps around, for example from 60 to 20 in a few minutes
- The phone gets warm while doing very little
- On iPhone, Battery Health shows a low maximum capacity or a "Service" message
- The back panel or screen is lifting, which can mean the battery is swelling
A swollen battery should be dealt with quickly. Stop charging the phone, do not press on the bulge and book a replacement.
Not every battery complaint is the battery. Fast drain can come from a single app running in the background, a weak network signal or a recent update. Slow charging is often a worn cable, adapter or a dirty charging port rather than the battery itself. How the doorstep battery replacement works
A trained, background-checked technician visits you, checks the battery and charging in front of you and quotes a price. Only after you approve is the phone opened. The old battery is carefully released from its adhesive (gently, because a punctured lithium battery is dangerous), the new one is fitted, and the phone is sealed again.
Before you pay, you check that the phone powers on, charges and shows a sensible percentage. The technician will also take the old battery away rather than leaving it with you.
Part options and what affects the price
You can choose an A-grade or a standard quality replacement battery. The price depends on your phone model, how difficult it is to open (glass-back phones take more work than older designs) and the grade you pick. There are no fixed prices; the technician confirms the final figure after inspection. A small visit charge applies and is adjusted against the bill if you go ahead.
On some recent iPhones, a battery fitted outside Apple may show a message in Settings about an unknown part. The phone still works normally; the technician will mention this before you approve.
How long it takes
It depends on the model and how the battery is fixed inside. The technician confirms the expected time at inspection, before any work starts.
Warranty
Your new battery is covered by the 90-day Refits warranty on the same issue. If the same fault returns within 90 days, we fix it again. Physical or liquid damage after the repair is not covered.

Frequently asked questions
How do I check battery health?
On iPhone, go to Settings, Battery, Battery Health. Many Android phones show it under Battery or Device Care. If your phone does not show it, the technician can assess it during the visit.
My phone charges slowly. Is it the battery?
Often it is the cable, adapter or the port. Try another cable and adapter first. If that does not help, see our charging port repair page.
Is a swollen battery dangerous?
It can be. Swelling means gas has built up inside the cell. Stop charging, keep the phone away from heat and get it replaced soon.
Will I lose my data?
No. Replacing the battery does not affect storage. A backup before any repair is still a good habit.
Can you replace a tablet battery too?
