Which part is the problem?
Your phone has several audio parts, and each fails in its own way:
- Earpiece speaker (top of the screen): you cannot hear callers unless you switch to speakerphone
- Loudspeaker (usually at the bottom): music, ringtones and speakerphone are faint, crackly or silent
- Main microphone: callers say you sound far away, muffled or cannot hear you at all
- Secondary microphones: voice notes or video sound fine, but noise cancellation or speakerphone calls are poor
Check these before booking
Many sound problems are not hardware faults:
- Dirt in the grille. The earpiece mesh collects dust and makeup. Clean it gently with a soft, dry toothbrush. Do not push pins into it.
- Bluetooth. If the phone is still connected to earbuds or a car, sound goes there. Turn Bluetooth off and test again.
- Case or screen guard. Some cases and guards cover the microphone hole or earpiece slot.
- App permissions. If the mic fails in one app but works in the voice recorder, check that app's microphone permission.
- Network. Calls breaking up in one location are often a signal issue, not the speaker.
How the doorstep repair works
A trained, background-checked technician visits your home or office and tests each speaker and microphone with you: a test call, a voice recording, speakerphone and media playback. That tells them exactly which part has failed. You get a price, and the phone is only opened after you approve.
The earpiece usually sits behind the display, so the screen is lifted carefully to reach it. The loudspeaker is often a separate module near the bottom. On many phones the main microphone is on the same flex cable as the charging port, so the two are replaced together; see charging port repair. You check calls, recordings and media before paying.
Part options and what affects the price
Speaker and microphone parts come in A-grade and standard quality, your choice. The price depends on your model, which part is faulty, whether it is a standalone part or built into a larger flex or sub-board, and the grade. The final price is confirmed after inspection, before any work. A small visit charge applies and is adjusted against the bill if you go ahead.
How long it takes
It depends on the model and which part is being replaced. An earpiece behind the display takes more care than a bottom loudspeaker. The technician confirms the expected time at inspection.
Warranty
The repaired part carries the 90-day Refits warranty on the same issue. If the same fault returns within 90 days, we fix it again. Physical or liquid damage after the repair is not covered.

Frequently asked questions
My speaker crackles at high volume. Is it worth repairing?
Crackling usually means the speaker cone is damaged, and it tends to get worse. A replacement is generally straightforward.
The speaker went quiet after the phone got wet. Can you fix it?
We do not offer liquid damage repair. If the speaker stays quiet once the phone is fully dry, the technician can check whether the speaker itself has failed.
Callers can hear me on speakerphone but not normally. Why?
Phones use different microphones for different modes. That pattern points to one specific microphone, which the technician can test.
Will my data be affected?
No. Audio part repairs do not touch storage.
