Charging Port Repair at Your Doorstep in Hyderabad
Is it really the charging port?
A phone that will not charge is one of the most common repair calls, and it is also the one most often caused by something other than the phone. Before you book, try these quick checks:
- Use a different cable and a different adapter, ideally ones you know work with another phone
- Try a different wall socket
- Look into the port with a torch. Pocket lint packed at the bottom stops the plug going in fully
- Restart the phone and plug it in again
If the phone charges fine with another cable, the fault was the cable or adapter, and you do not need a repair. Do not dig into the port with a pin or anything metal; you can bend the contacts or short them.
Signs the port itself needs repair
- Charging only works when the cable is held at a particular angle
- The plug feels loose or falls out easily
- Charging keeps connecting and disconnecting
- The phone charges but is not recognised by a computer, or the other way round
- A "moisture detected" warning that will not clear after the port is dry
- Visible bent pins, burn marks or corrosion inside the port
Sometimes slow charging is actually a worn-out battery. If the port checks out fine, the technician may point you to a battery replacement instead.
How the doorstep port repair works
A trained, background-checked technician comes to your home or office and tests charging with their own known-good cable in front of you. Often a careful cleaning of the port is all it needs. If the port is damaged, they quote a price for the repair and wait for your approval.
On many Android phones, the port sits on a small sub-board that is replaced as one unit. On iPhones and some other models, the port is part of a flex cable that also carries the microphone, so that is replaced together. You then check charging, data connection and the microphone before paying.
Part options and what affects the price
Replacement port parts come in A-grade or standard quality, your choice. The price depends on your model, whether the port is on a separate board or soldered to the main board, and the part grade. A port soldered directly to the motherboard is more involved; see our motherboard repair page for that kind of work. The technician confirms the final price after inspection. A small visit charge applies and is adjusted against the bill if you go ahead.
How long it takes
It depends on the model and on whether a cleaning, a sub-board swap or board-level work is needed. The technician confirms the time at inspection.
Warranty
Port repairs come with the 90-day Refits warranty on the same issue: if the same fault returns within 90 days, we fix it again. Physical or liquid damage after the repair is not covered.
Models we commonly service
USB-C and Lightning ports on iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, OnePlus, Google Pixel, Xiaomi and Redmi, Vivo, Oppo, Realme and Motorola phones, plus tablets. Availability depends on part stock; select your model on the booking page.
Frequently asked questions
My phone shows "moisture detected". Can you fix that?
If the warning stays after the port has fully dried, the port may be corroded and can be replaced. We do not offer liquid damage repair for the rest of the phone.
Can a fast charger damage the port?
The charger itself rarely damages the port. Loose, low-quality cables and yanking the cable out at an angle are more common causes.
Wireless charging works but the cable does not. What does that mean?
It usually means the battery is fine and the fault is in the port, cable or adapter.
Will the repair affect my data?
No, a port repair does not touch your storage.
Refits is an independent repair service and is not affiliated with, authorised by or endorsed by Apple, Samsung or any other device manufacturer. If your phone is still under manufacturer warranty, check before booking, because repair by an independent service may affect any remaining manufacturer warranty.
