When the back glass needs replacing
Many phones today have glass on both sides, and the back often breaks on the first drop on a hard floor. Replace it if you see:
- Cracks or shattered sections, even if a case is hiding them
- Sharp edges or glass flaking off near the camera bump
- The panel lifting or rattling at the edges
- Cracks around the camera that let dust into the lenses
A broken back is not just cosmetic. Shards can cut your hand, the gaps let in dust and moisture, and on phones with wireless charging the coil sits right behind the glass.

How the doorstep back glass replacement works
A trained, background-checked technician visits your home or office, inspects the phone with you, and confirms whether the frame underneath is bent. You get a price before any work starts.
Once you approve, the method depends on the model. On many Android phones, the back panel is glued on and can be heated, removed and replaced with a new panel. On some iPhones, the back glass is bonded to the frame, so the cracked glass is removed carefully piece by piece and a new panel is fitted in its place. Either way, the camera lenses, wireless charging and buttons are checked before you pay.
Part options and what affects the price
You choose between an A-grade and a standard quality back panel. A-grade panels are closer in colour, finish and fit; standard panels cost less. Some panels come with the camera lens glass already fitted, which is useful when the lens cover is cracked too. The price depends on your model, colour, whether the frame is damaged and the grade. There are no fixed prices; the final amount is confirmed after inspection. A small visit charge is adjusted against the bill if you go ahead.
If the frame is badly bent or the screen is also cracked, the technician will explain your options, including screen replacement, so you can decide what is worth doing.
How long it takes
It varies a lot by model. Glued-on panels are quicker than bonded iPhone backs. The technician confirms the expected time at inspection.
Warranty
The 90-day Refits warranty covers the same issue. If the same fault comes back within 90 days, we fix it again. New cracks from drops after the repair are physical damage and are not covered.

Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to keep using a phone with cracked back glass?
It works, but loose shards can cut you and the cracks let dust in. Cover it with tape or a case until you get it replaced.
Will wireless charging work after the repair?
It should. The technician tests wireless charging (if your phone supports it) before you pay.
Can I change the colour of my back panel?
Sometimes, depending on what panels are in stock for your model. Ask when you book.
My camera lens cover is cracked but the back is fine. Is that a back glass job?
Not always. Lens covers can sometimes be replaced on their own. See camera repair or ask the technician.
